More than half of Americans are overweight, even obese, and now comes the news that the same is true of our canine companions. Being overweight is just as dangerous for a dog as it is for a human. Now, there are gyms that allow dogs and their owners to work out together - a little canine cardio is good for the soul.

An employee at a Publix is getting the a lot of attention for something very small but very good that he did. During his shift, Gage (the employee's name) noticed that this elderly gentleman had a shoe untied. When he alerted the older man, Gage found out that he couldn't bend down and tie it himself so he did it for him. The employee even made sure the other one was nice and tight.

Someone was watching and posted this to the Publix FB page.

In a world where social media is most often used as a way to complain, it's wonderful to see something positive.

Robin Williams' fans spontaneously turned the "Good Will Hunting" bench in Boston into a memorial.

After hearing that Robin Williams died on Monday, 29-year-old Boston resident Nick Rabchenuk decided to head over to the Boston Public Gardens.

After hearing that Robin Williams had passed away yesterday, 29-year old Boston resident Nick Rabchenuk went to the Boston Public Gardens. He wanted to bring flowers to the famous bench where Williams sits with Matt Damon in "Good Will Hunting."

He wanted to bring flowers to the famous bench where Williams' character sits with Matt Damon's character in Good Will Hunting .

Rabchenuk tells Buzzfeed that when he arrived, there were two guys sitting on the bench and they all started talking about Williams. He says he got out some chalk and his girlfriend wrote the "BANGARANG and Ferngully line." Then, he traced his feet to represent where Robin sat on the bench.

Rabchenuk told Buzzfeed, "That one scene on the bench is arguably one of the best scenes of any movie made in the last 50 years. It's so simple and straightforward, it just hits you right in the gut."

Enjoy one of Robin Williams' most memorable scenes. We will remember you always, Robin.

"Do whatever the ---- you want," she exhorted as "Adore You" began. "Nobody gives a ----."

Jeffery Lee Puckett of the Courier-Journal summed up the Saturday Night Miley Cyrus show at the KFC-YUM Center with that line. He continued:

"Kids, this is not the kind of advice you want to embrace, not from Miley Cyrus, and not on a whim. The message was presented as one of empowerment, but it really seemed to be more about Cyrus' outsized ego and an iron-clad belief that her consistently strung-out life represents a beacon of sound decisions."

You can read his entire review of the show and see the entire picture gallery at the COURIER-JOURNAL website by clicking here:

The White House may be terrorist proof but clearly it isn't toddler proof. The White House was put on lockdown when a toddler squeezed through the bars. Everyone is fine but things were put on hold for awhile.

Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said of the child: "We were going to wait until he learned to talk to question him, but in lieu of that he got a timeout and was sent on way with his parents."

One local family has spent the summer fostering some very adorable, special needs puppies. The puppies were diagnosed with Swimmer Puppy Syndrome.

Their legs go out to the sides, they have heart and lung problems, and without therapy, 50% will die. The Ice family has been working with the puppies all summer. After receiving a call from The Mia Foundation. the dogs are now at Cornell getting much-needed therapy.

The Mia Foundation works with animals with birth defects to give them a fighting chance. Money from tomorrow's fundraiser with go to support The Mia Foundation and The Kentucky Humane Society.

At least the kids at one school have this once-in-a-lifetime, legendary moment to carry them through classes in early August.

49-year-old Lorie Ann Hill was a new teacher at Wagoner High School in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Lorie showed up at 9:00 A.M. on her first day at the new school HAMMERED on vodka . . . and not wearing PANTS.

Someone called the cops . . . and by the time they got there she'd put pants on but was still clearly drunk. She managed to dodge a DUI charge because no one saw her drive to the school drunk . . . but she was arrested for public intoxication.

There's no word on whether the school fired her, but we're ASSUMING she isn't there teaching right now.

Actress and new mom Olivia Wilde, who graces the cover of the September issue of Glamour magazine, says any portrait of her right now is not complete without a picture of her as a mom. Wilde gave birth to her and fiance Jason Sudeikis' son, Otis, in April.

"You can be someone who it at once professional and maternal and sexy," says the 30-year old. "But, I mean, I certainly don't look like that when I'm typically breast-feeding. And there's usually a diaper involved."

Glamour's September issue hits newsstands August 12th.

Barefoot and dressed in a white onesie, the couple's baby girl is focused on the camera while West only has eyes (and a big smile!) for his little lady.

It's the worst Ebola outbreak in history, and now two Americans who have the virus are being treated at Emory University in Atlanta. The university has a special isolation unit for highly infectious diseases, but many people are concerned about Ebola's arrival in the U.S. Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol were both working for a missionary group in Liberia and Monrovia when they were diagnosed. Do you have a friend you met online that you've NEVER met in person?

Before you say, "Of course not!" . . . think about that random person you're somehow friends with on Facebook. The one whose status updates you're weirdly obsessed with.

According to a new survey, 76% of people say they DO have a good friend they met on the Internet who they've never met in person. That means three out of four people have a good Internet-only friend.

And WOMEN are more likely to have a good friend they only know from the Internet. 83% of women say they've got one, versus 73% of men.

Do you have one?

Back in 2012, a black lab named Lady ended up at an animal shelter in Sedan, Kansas after her owner died.

She grew attached to a family that adopted her, but they eventually brought her back . . . they thought she was too rough with a new puppy they got. Which is weird, because Lady is pretty old. She looks like she's at least 10.

Anyway, another family took her in. But then she ran off, and walked 30 MILES back to the FIRST family's house. And at that point, NEITHER of the families wanted her anymore. So she ended up back at the same shelter for a third time.

Which is when a woman named Helen Rosburg heard about her. Helen is the great-granddaughter of the guy who started Wrigley Gum. And she has a farm in Odessa, Florida that's specifically for rescue animals.

So on Thursday, Helen sent a PRIVATE JET to pick up Lady in Kansas and fly her to Florida. And for the rest of her life, she'll be living in a 10,000 square foot house, and get to run around with other dogs on a 120-acre farm.
